About Judy Marty (She/Her)
Judy predominantly sees adult clients, however has a few child clients that she continues to see.
Judy was born in a rural North Queensland community. She studied in Queensland and was awarded a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Psychology, with honours in 1996 and 1997 respectively. Prior to completing her Psychology honours degree, Judy gained experience working with young children where her work focused on child development.
Judy moved to Western Australia as a Registered Psychologist in 1999. She worked for 13 years in rural and remote WA, and has resided and practiced in Perth for the last 7 years. She continues her work with adults, children, and families; A position that she feels privileged to hold. Judy received a Significant Contribution Award (see here) in 2017 from the APS Division of General Psychological Practice.
Judy has a range of therapeutic techniqes that she can draw upon, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and clinical hypnotherapy.
